Why Charities and Non-profit Organizations?
After graduating with an MBA and certificates in Marketing, Management, International Business and Entrepreneurship, from the University of South Florida, I started a 501c3 called Youth Empowered to Achieve! (YEA!) to help underserved youth in Tampa’s “Suitcase City”.
In the process I learned that the only difference between running a non-profit organization and a for-profit company is that the funds go towards the mission instead of to shareholders. The entrepreneurship, marketing, management, financing, reporting, research and development, human resources management and all the MBA skills I have are put to use daily!
I also learned that most non-profit organizations are not started or managed by MBAs. What I found in my growing youth development, non-profit circle were great people, with huge hearts, endless passion and dedication, cringing at the business end of fulfilling their missions.
In growing the sphere of youth development, I realized that I could help more youth by helping like-minded people. This includes other charities and non-profit organizations, corporations and individuals. This includes you.
I started on a mission to further you(th) development by offering solutions to other charities and non-profits in dynamic ways. I registered charity 1185 in August 2015.
Today, I mentor youth, I manage 2 charities across 3 countries and I enjoy engaging people in getting their hands “earthy” with environmental projects.
I am The Charity Consultant. Help me change more lives.
